Many people consider cleaning outside windows to be one of the most difficult cleaning jobs. Luckily for you, these tips should make window cleaning less daunting.

1. Before you get going, collect together all of your supplies. Nothing slows down chores more than having to stop every few minutes to look for something you forgot.

2. Fill up a tub, bowl or bucket with warm water and a glass cleaning solution.

3. Before you start cleaning the outside windows, remove the screens (if you have them) and use the garden hose to wash them down with cold water. If they are really dirty you can rub a wet cloth over them and then use the garden hose on them for another go.

4. Then, you can start getting rid of any debris and cobwebs from around the window. First use an old sweeping brush to clear around the frame. Then gently rinse down the area with more water from your garden hose.

5. Next, start washing the window. Soak your sponge to start. With window washing, adopt the ’start from the top and work your way down’ rule. As you are washing, use a squeegee to wipe water away from the glass, drying the squeegee with a towel after each wipe.

6. Just like before, make sure all of your supplies are close to hand.

7. Mix the appropriate solution of warm water and window cleaning solution in a bucket.

8. Before you start washing the window, lay a towel on the floor.

9. Next step, dust and clean the frame. It’ll look silly to have shiny windows in a dirty frame.

10. After cleaning the window frame, take a clean sponge and soak it in the water. Cleaning the window would be done in the exact same way as you would outside. Againuse gravity to your advantage by starting at the top and working downwards. Use the squeegee to wipe away any surface water.

11. When finished cleaning the windows you can use a clean cloth to dry the window frames.

Some other methods you can use to clean windows include:

12. You can use alcohol or an ammonia window cleaning solution as apposed to a water and detergent. Mix it with water and pour it in a spray bottle, then it is ready to use. After you’ve sprayed the windows, wipe clean with a paper towel.

Some helpful window cleaning tips are:

13. Don’t try to wash windows in direct sunlight. You don’t want the soap drying onto the window before you can wipe them clean.

14. You will find squeegees very helpful when you’re washing windows. You should use them on every window, except for very small windows where it will not fit. Windows too small to use the squeegee can be polished using paper towels and glass cleaner spray.
