Having a cluttered and disorganized home is such a pain. It has been a major problem for many home owners. Others would consider it a useless habit while others would consider it simply as scavenging. You’re not at fault however. Back in the old days, they never get to deal with a lot of junk. They don’t have many things that we have today. Most people have too many things with only a limited time to take care of them. Most of these people have not had the chance to have paper works, clothes and more clothes, and also bills from different appliances that have not been there in the yesteryears.

Here are some golden tips you have to know about how to declutter the home.

1.    Schedule a declutter day: Decide on how you’re going to declutter a specific area at home. Do it fifteen minutes each day. Don’t try to overdo it. It took a while to have the home cluttered and so it takes that time to declutter it as well. You have to follow the steps accordingly. In a month or two, you will find things to be a lot better than before.
2.    Prepare decluttering equipments: It became an essential how to declutter tip. How are you going to declutter without the tools? You should have the basic tools such as brooms, dust rags, boxes and anything to place some old stuffs in. Label the boxes, the ones that you will keep in the storage room, the ones to give away, and the ones to throw away.
3.    Donate your decluttered stuff: It may be difficult to give away some old things because of its sentimental value but when it takes so much space you have to decide whether to keep it or not. Just so you don’t feel so bad about letting it go, donate it.  
4.    You can begin in one corner or in the entrance of a room. You can then work on towards other parts later. You should not miss out on any area.
5.    Be consistent: A significant how to declutter tip is to keep on with the plan. You have to follow the date and time in your declutter schedule. Once you start skipping the planned time and date, things will start to look untidy once more. When this happens, clutter is going to pile up again and you have to start from square one.
