We all know that just vacuuming the carpet won't keep it completely clean, however it will help keep the dirt from getting deep down into the fibers of your carpet. If you want to keep you carpet in its best shape then be sure that you vacuum daily. But this might not be so realistic. Always vacuum the carpeted areas at least two times a week. When vacuuming, go over the area slowly several times especially in high traffic areas to be sure you get all the dust and dirt.

Regular shampooing your carpet is just as important as vacuuming to maintain a clean floor. You can achieve this a few ways. You can use a carpet cleaner solution to spray on the carpet which will help loosen the dirt that deep down in it and then make sure you vacuum well once it dries. You can get you carpets clean by steam cleaning also.To steam clean you use a steam cleaning machine and a liquid cleaning agent and you can pull the dirt out aas it brings the dirt to the surface. The carpets will be clean either way. It's just whatever you prefer.

Since there is no way to avoid getting stains on the carpet we all need carpet cleaning tips on how to clean up those hard to remove stains. You must act quickly when a stain occurs first of all. With liquid spills it is critical. There is a greater chance of liquid setting into the carpet the longer it sits there. When liguid spills on the carpet you must blot the area immediately.Rubbing the carpet will only cause the fibers to weaken and eventually look worn out so don't ever rub the carpet fibers. After blotting the stain with water you can use a stain cleaner if you want or use club soda to blot the stain. It really works believe it or not. Vinegar has been known to remove coffee stains and chocolate off carpet and corn starch or baking soda is used to remove oil spots. Now these are great carpet cleaning tips to help you remove those annoying stains!

Besides knowing how to clean a carpet once it gets dirty, it is also important to know what you can do to keep it cleaner everyday. The first tip is to make your home a “shoe free” home. Before your family members or guests come into your home have them take off their shoes. Some people may not know that the oil in the skin on bare feet can ruin carpets just as much as shoes on the carpet.A shoe free home is great but you still want to be sure your family puts some slippers or socks on their feet to walk around.

Another thing you can do to help prevent stains on the carpet is to place a mat at the front door so people can wipe their feet before walking on your floors. Then hopefully it will help remove the dirt before your guests come into your home. You can also place a mat inside the front door. If you do you want your guests to be able to wipe their feet and remove their shoes so make sure the mat is long enough. Keep all your mats clean don’t forget.  When a mat reaches a point when it can no longer hold dirt, then the dirt ends up making it into the house. With these few carpet cleaning tips you should be able to enjoy your beautiful floors for many years.
